Moody Sounds Mushroom Echo is a combined echo / pitch pedal which is controlled optically. It can produce everything from freaky and bent out of shape notes to soft chorus like sounds. Very expressive for the creative musician!

The pitch and echo is controlled by covering/ exposing a sensor, which is placed in the right corner of the pedal. The white knob is a sensitivity control for the sensor and the red knob sets the number of repeats.

Moody mushroom has also a mode-switch. Switch it and the pedal behaves like a regular echo. Its two knobs now set interval time between the repeats (white) and length of repeats (red).

The Mushroom has true bypass and is powered with 9 or 12 volt dc adapter with common polarity (not included).

Review:

A great and inspirational echo/delay pedal with a "mushroom" option. You can use it as a normal delay, when you get nice, clean, beautiful repeats. Or you can get into "mushroom" territory... That is, you can affect the delay time by sweeping your foot or something else abow the mushroom sensor (the mushroom sensor acts somewhat like an expression pedal). This way the pedal can produce really sick, weird and chaotic sounds - as well as something smooth'n'moody, you decide. This pedal is absolutely one of my favorites. The only reason I'm givin only 3 instead of 5 is the fact that there is no footswitch for the jump between normal echo and mushroom echo modes (the mode is switched by a toggle switch). If there was, it was obvious that I'd give 5 for this.
